The importance of knowing God's word
In many cases, people feel that if they attend church regularly, they are getting enough word and doing enough to please God. But there is so much more to knowing who God truly is. Knowing God is more than getting up and going to church on Sunday morning, it is more than taking a few minutes to pray. We must build a relationship with God. We must be led and directed by God. To build a true relationship we have to be intentional with our time with him. We have to make time to get to know God. When we get to know more about God, we are actually learning more about ourselves.
By learning outside of Sunday morning services and Bible study services we make God a priority. We show him that we are hungry and thirsty for his word. By becoming a bible scholar we are not trying to be better than anyone else, we are not showing off that we have gained credentials or certificates. But we are following 2 Timothy 2:15 we are studying to show ourselves approved. We are increasing our knowledge and our faith as well as our confidence. We are learning to go outside of the 4 walls of the church and compel people who do not know Christ to come to him. We are learning how to dig deeper into the word and truly understand what we are preaching to our congregation for those who are ministers of the Gospel. Learning more about God's word in a school setting is a blessing because you can ask questions and you become a scholar of the word of God. You learn to defend the word when you are challenged or when someone comes to you with questions that they may not understand. For me, I have gained knowledge but I have also gained family. I have gained spiritual friends and mothers and fathers. Those who don't mind giving you the true unadulterated word of God. They have helped me become more confident with learning, speaking out, and expressing what I have learned. Being a part of a School Ministry will help you grow spiritually. Knowing God's word is one of the ultimate goals that we should strive for. Knowing more about God will help us to know more about who we are as well as help us to bring others to Him.
